Former NFL linebacker Willie McGinest arrested in West Hollywood nightclub assault investigation

After being drafted fourth overall by New England in 2004 out of USC, McGinest enjoyed a successful 15-year NFL career as a defensive end and linebacker.

The Patriots had him from 1994 to 2004, and the Browns had him from 2006 to 2008. In his regular season career, he recorded 86 sacks, 581 solo tackles, and 16 caused fumbles.

McGinest, a candidate for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022 and the current holder of the NFL playoffs record with 16 sacks, received support from former Patriots defensive back Ty Law in August.

Where does Willie McGinest fit in? The Athletic was the one who was questioned by Law. I believe he still has the record for most career sacks in the postseason, which is when it really counts. A feat of such magnitude deserves praise. It’s high time, if you ask me.
