Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets was fined $50,000 for sending profane Twitter messages to actor Michael Rappaport.
According to ESPN and the New York Times, the NBA fined Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant $50,000 Friday for a profane Twitter exchange with actor Michael Rappaport.
Durant has apologised for threatening and profane remarks he posted on social media to entertainer Michael Rapaport.
Rapaport shared screenshots of the private messages from the Brooklyn Nets star on his Twitter account Tuesday, and they contained homophobic and misogynistic words.
Coach Steve Nash of Brooklyn stated that the team has addressed the comments but will keep the discussion internal.
Durant is closing in on a comeback from a left hamstring strain that has kept him out of action since mid-February. He may return as soon as next week.
