An ex-TV host has been charged with assaulting a woman at his apartment in Sydney.

He will be in jail again tonight because he allegedly grabbed a female business partner by the throat and then punched her.

The former host of Channel Seven’s Weekend Sunrise was arrested by police in Sydney this morning. They found him at his home on Kent Street at about 4:30am.

Two counts of intentionally chokeing someone without their permission, three counts of common assault, and one count of assault resulting in actual bodily harm were all filed against him this afternoon.

Police will say that the 50-year-old hit his business partner during a fight at his house on Tuesday afternoon.

O’Keefe, the host of the reality game show Deal or No Deal, was also a former ambassador for White Ribbon, which fights violence against women.

He has been charged with assaulting woman.

As NSW Police said in a statement, there was a “verbal argument.” The man is said to have grabbed the woman by the throat, shoved her to the ground, and punched her.

The man is said to have hit and kicked the woman a second time before she left the unit.

His bail has been turned down, and he will be in court tomorrow.
