In the United Kingdom, the Volkswagen ID.4 lineup has expanded to include the updated base Pure and Pure Performance battery and motor options available in the City and Style trim levels.
The City and Style Pure each use a 52 kWh battery to power an electric motor producing 148 PS (146 HP / 109 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. They can reach 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in 10.9 seconds and will top out at 160 kilometers per hour (99 mph). The WLTP range is 343 kilometers (213 miles) and the EPA range is 340 kilometers (211 miles).
The City Pure Performance and Style Pure Performance models have 170 PS (168 HP / 125 kW) and 310 Nm, respectively (229 lb-ft). Acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (0 to 62 miles per hour) takes 9.0 seconds in this case, and peak speed is equal at 160 kilometers per hour (99 mph). The base model can travel 343 kilometers (213 miles) on a single charge, while the higher-spec model can travel 340 kilometers (211 miles).
The ID.4 City Pure is priced from £34,650 ($48,862) and is qualified for a government grant of £32,150 ($45,337). It comes equipped with standard LED headlights and taillights, front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, ambient lighting in multiple colors, and a 10-inch infotainment system. Along with traffic sign recognition, the Front Assist, Lane Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control are included.
The ID.4 City Style Pure starts at £38,150 ($53,798) and includes 18-inch wheels, matrix LED headlights with front light strip, 3D LED taillights, illuminated door handles, and tinted rear windows, as well as keyless entry and go, three-zone climate control, a reverse camera as part of the Assistance Package, and a load area luggage net.
City Pure Performance and Style Pure Performance models are priced starting at £36,030 ($50,808) and £39,530 ($55,744), respectively.
