“Like I said before, he was a big guy with a big heart and a true legend who has definitely left a bit of a mark in the aviation world.”
After the crash yesterday around 2 p.m. (3 p.m. AEDT), it looked like Jenkinson’s helicopter went straight down and hit a sand island in the Gold Coast Broadwater.
All of the people who were seriously hurt and killed were in the same helicopter when it crashed into a sand island in the Gold Coast Broadwater yesterday around 2pm (3pm AEDT).
The other plane was able to land safely, so none of the six people on board were seriously hurt.
Police said that the second helicopter was carrying a woman from Western Australia who was 27 years old and two families from New Zealand.

One family had a man who was 44 and a woman who was 43. The other family had a man who was 48 and a woman who was 45.
One of the people inside was not hurt, but the others were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries and treated there.
A spokesperson for the hospital said that everyone had been let out of the hospital, but police said this morning that the pilot and one passenger were still being treated.
