Four people died when two helicopters crashed into each other in the air near Sea World on the Gold Coast.
Vanessa Tadros, a woman from Sydney, died in the crash. Her 10-year-old son, however, was hurt and is now fighting for his life in the hospital.
Ron and Diane Hughes, who were both British and had just gotten married, were killed. Ron was 65 and Diane was 57.
The pilot of the helicopter, Ash Jenkinson, was the first person to be named as having died in the crash yesterday. He was 40 years old, had worked at Sea World since 2019 and helped friends get jobs in the aviation industry.

Along with Tadros’s son, Winnie De Silva and her nine-year-old son Leon also survived the crash and are still in the hospital.
Andy Taylor, a friend of Jenkinson’s, told Today that the pilot was important in last year’s flood relief work in the Northern Rivers.
Taylor said, “It was a group effort with a few of our friends, and Ash joined right away when he heard what we were doing.”
