‘Enraged’ Army medic’s TikTok video ripping Roe v. Wade ruling goes viral
In a TikTok post, a US Army medic criticized the US Supreme Court for overturning Roe v. Wade. The post got more attention when right-wing Internet personality Jack Posobiec shared it over the weekend.
On June 24, when the landmark decision came out, a woman army medic posted a three-minute video in which she yelled that the US “treats women like second-class citizens.”
“I just got a new contract last week to keep serving this country. How can I take an oath to support and defend the Constitution and my country if women are treated like second-class citizens?
“I don’t know how to do that. How can I do that with a sense of pride? How can I do that with love and respect?”
The medic said she found out about the high court’s decision after waking up from a nap. She then asked, “How am I supposed to wake up every day and put on a frickin’ uniform that says “United States Army” when the United States doesn’t even care about me?”
“It doesn’t give a rat’s behind about the guns they’re allowed to buy as long as they kill the kids I’m forced to have,” she said. “Give that some thought.”
The taped rant of TikTok user rahasenfratz, which got almost 30,000 likes and more than 1,200 comments, was posted by Posobiec on Twitter on Saturday.
The caption for the TikTok post said, “My heart is broken. I am enraged. I’m scared to death.”
In the video clip, the medic said that taking away women’s constitutional right to an abortion has “unintended consequences” for women in the military.
“This effect on female service women is unintended, so lawmakers and Supreme Court justices probably weren’t thinking about it when they wrote their 213-page report on it, right?” she asked.
“I don’t think they were thinking about this result. “But it is a problem, and it affects the people who are held to a higher standard by those lawmakers because they support the troops,” she said. “But, do you really? You really care about the troops, even though this will make it much harder for women to stay in the military?”
The TikTok user laughed and said, “You support the troops, but you’re going to ruin the careers of some women.”
The Army member who was deployed said that she has “very limited access to birth control” and that “women in the military are more likely to get pregnant without meaning to.”
“You can’t even get an ultrasound on base,” the woman who didn’t give her name said.
At the end of the clip, she promised to do what was in her contract and serve the United States. She also talked about how the controversial Supreme Court decision would affect her.
She said, “Since I signed that contract, I will serve my country.” “But you can be sure you’ll hear my voice, because I’m not going to stop. I won’t rest, and I won’t keep quiet, because this is a complete attack on women in this country.
When Posobiec posted the video to his Twitter followers with the caption “BREAKING: Woke Female Army Soldier Questions Loyalty to United States after Roe v. Wade Decision,” many people were upset.
“This is fine, but it’s not okay to refuse an experimental vaccine. “@POTUS has destroyed our military,” raged the Twitter account “Yankee in the South.” The account was talking about the requirement that US Army members get safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines.
“Maybe you should just shut up and reread your contract. Another critic said, “@USArmy, you have a problem with having no allegiance here.”
Marilyn Redmon wrote on Twitter, “You are free to move to another country!!
