Tyrell Cohen, the twin of NFL star Tarik Cohen, was electrocuted while fleeing from police.
Tyrell Cohen, the 25-year-old twin brother of an NFL running back, was discovered dead Sunday in Raleigh, North Carolina, and local police suspect he was electrocuted while fleeing law enforcement.
Tyrell Cohen allegedly escaped a traffic stop attempted by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Cohen, the brother of Chicago Bears star Tarik Cohen, was killed while attempting to climb equipment at an electrical company in Raleigh, ABC News reported.
He escaped, according to reports, when the North Carolina State Highway Patrol attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
According to reports, authorities have no reason to presume foul play.
According to a since-deleted tweet, Tarik Cohen, a four-year Bears veteran who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2018, confirmed his fraternal twin missing on Saturday.
“RALEIGH/DURHAM AREA,” Tarik Cohen wrote in part. Are you aware of my brother’s whereabouts? At 2 a.m., he was last seen at the Heroes bar… Might be walking through the woulds (sic)… Possibly harmed!”
Tarik Cohen has made no public comments about his brother’s passing. The Bears, his team, expressed their “heartbreak” and offered their condolences to the Cohen family.
