People who took part in the MAGA riots told the court that they had to give up their “six-figure job” so they could storm the Capitol for Donald Trump.
Richard Barnard was in court on Friday to get his punishment for rioting in a Capitol building last year. He pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor charge of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.
Barnard told the court that his life had been ruined since he stormed the Capitol on behalf of former President Trump on January 6th, 2020. Politico’s Kyle Cheney said that Barnard told the court that his life had been ruined since then.
Barnard says that he lost his “six-figure job,” as well as his credit rating and retirement savings, because he took part in the MAGA riot.
Courts can’t do anything that will even come close to what he’s lost.
In Court House News, Jeffrey Witcher, a Texas Marine Corps veteran, was caught on camera saying that he had broken into the White House, when in fact he was in the United States Capitol building. Barnard went to the Capitol riot with him.
It says, “I’m in the White House!” Witcher said that at the time. “We wrecked this. In our house! We did it, family! Finally, we got it done! In the White House!”
