Untold: The Girlfriend That Didn’t Exist is a Netflix documentary about a former NFL player named Manti Teo’o.
In the new Netflix Untold documentary, American football player Manti Te’o talks about the big hoax from 2013.
Netflix has put out a new Untold Documentary that tells the story of how a fake relationship turned American football player Manti Te’o’s life upside down in 2013.
Te’o first came to the public’s attention in 2009. At the time, he seemed like one of the more honest football players: a Mormon Polynesian from Hawaii who was a small-town hero with an All-American feel.
He also agreed to play for the University of Notre Dame, which has one of the oldest and most traditional sports teams in the US.
The football star was great on the field, but he also had a sad story that happened while he was at the University. This story helped him become a legend in college football.
During his senior year, he lost his girlfriend and grandmother within 24 hours of each other. He then led Notre Dame to a winning season, which put him in the running for the Heisman Trophy.
In 2012, Te’o came in second at the New York City Ceremony and spoke onstage about his girlfriend, Lennay, who had died.

What does Manti Te’o do?
Te’o was born in Laie, Hawaii. In 2006, as a sophomore, he played well enough to be named to the second team of all-state players.
In 2007, the Honolulu Advertiser and Gatorade named him the state defensive player of the year and the state player of the year, respectively. He was also named to the first team all-state for his 90 tackles and five sacks on defense.
Because of this, colleges and recruiters paid a lot of attention to the football player, and he got offers from about 30 programs.
Te’o chose Notre Dame, and from 2009 to 2012, he played football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. College Football News named him a Freshman All-American. Rivals.com then named him a Freshman All-American on the second team.
During his college career, he played in 51 games and made 437 tackles. The San Diego Chargers picked him in the second round, 38th overall, in the 2013 NFL draft.
Since then, he has played for the New Orleans Saints, and in 2020, he played for the Chicago Bears. He has made 307 tackles during his time in the NFL.
Te’o is now married to personal trainer and beauty consultant Jovi Nicole Engbino. In February of 2020, they got engaged, and in August of that year, they got married in California.
What is the story about inThe Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist?
The strange story of Manti Te’o’s “relationship” with “Lennay Kekua” is told in a new Netflix documentary called “Untold.” Te’o told the media that both his grandmother and girlfriend had died on September 11, 2012. However, soon after, reporters got anonymous tips that Kekua had never existed and that Ronaiah Tuiasosopo was the real person (she is now a transgender woman called Naya).
Tuiasosopo is also of Samoan descent, and the two started dating online in 2009. The hoaxer used a picture of a woman named Diane O’Meara, who was one of Tuiasosopo’s former classmates.
The documentary shows both Tuiasosopo’s reasons for starting the online relationship and her own journey as a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender person. It also shows Te’o’s own experiences with the scandal.
At the time, many things didn’t make sense, and people started to think Te’o was part of the hoax. However, it became clear that Te’o was the victim of a very public catfishing scandal.
