The mother of a teenage girl charged with stabbing and car boot kidnapping another young woman whose hand was seen waving through a broken tail light maintains her daughter is “not guilty.”

On Wednesday, the family of Latia Henderson, 18, who is charged alongside Kayley Ketley, 24, appeared in Campbelltown Local Court.

Latia Henderson is 20 weeks pregnant and has been held alongside Ketley in jail since their detention in early February.

Henderson’s mother declined to comment on her daughter’s prison conditions, stating that she “didn’t need to because they’re not guilty.”

Kayley Ketley, 24, was arrested in the Southern Highlands following the discovery of a woman stabbed in a car boot.

The court heard that the two defendants will testify via videolink from jail later this month after prosecutors have reviewed the reported police interview with the alleged victim and medical records.

Henderson and Ketley face charges of unlawful wounding with the intent to cause great bodily harm, unlawful detention with the intent to cause great bodily harm, and driving a vehicle without the owner’s permission.

Ketley is also charged with marijuana possession and driving while suspended.

Both defendants have yet to respond to the alleged charges.

The two women allegedly assaulted Nisha Phillips, 24, on February 2, the night before she was allegedly seen waving her hand through a broken tail light of a vehicle 130 kilometers south of Sydney.

Ms Phillips was reportedly stabbed in the knee, thigh, and forearm, and the pair hijacked her car and drove away from southwestern Sydney with her in the boot for an alleged 12-hour ordeal.

Detectives are looking into whether drugs were involved in the incident and whether the two accused were transporting the alleged victim to the infamous Belanglo Forest.

Around 11 a.m. on February 3, a truck driver noticed Ms Phillips’ hand poking through the tail light of her white Holden Commodore while driving down the Hume Highway and called Triple-0.

Henderson and Ketley were stopped near Berrima, 130 kilometers south of Sydney and just ten minutes from the Belanglo Forest turn-off.

They saved Ms Phillips from the boot and rushed her to Liverpool Hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Ketley’s social media profile shows that she enjoys rap music, gangster-style jewelry, and girls, while Henderson describes herself as a “rev head” who enjoys cars and motorcycles and is grieving the death of her teen lover.

Both women were relatives of Brayden Dillon, who was murdered while sleeping by a hired hit man in an alleged revenge killing when he was 15 years old.

Latia Henderson has been blogging daily about Brayden Dillon’s death and how much she loves him in between the glamorous images.

She also shared a tragic tribute to her young relative, Indy Henderson, 3, who died in 2016 after a 425kg monument bearing the inscription “Lest we Forget” dropped on her during her grandmother’s 50th birthday celebrations at a Taree bowling club.

Additionally, she has shared several images of various cars and motorcycles she admires, most notably two years ago when she posted a picture of a Holden Commodore with the caption, “I’m going to marry a commodore.”

Additionally, she shared a picture of a white car’s taillights and exhaust with the caption “how’s them canons?”

Henderson has shared pictures of herself with Brayden on or about the anniversary of his April 2017 murder, when she would have been around 14 years old.

Kayley Ketley, 24, is being held on suspicion of allegedly assaulting another woman.

In 2019, she wrote, “You’re always on my mind” and “emotionally exhausted… no other words,” although a few months ago, she wrote, “I miss you so much Bray.” Rest in quiet, handsome boy”.

Kayley Ketley, who, like Henderson, is friends with their alleged victim on Facebook, has shared photos of her chunky gold jewelry, alcohol, and cash.

Ketley has also posted the lyrics to Chris Brown’s rap song I Bet.

Ketley, who has been in a relationship with another woman since October of last year, also posted a photo on Facebook of herself holding up a jeweled finger to the camera.

She captioned a photo of herself with Latia Henderson and another girl last September, “next weekend is going to be one for the books.”

Nikki Abrahams, a Campbelltown resident and Facebook user, defended Ketley, who has been targeted online since her detention, saying “kayz is a friend… she ain’t a s**t c**t.”

She is, in truth, a lovely young lady.”
