Aaron Judge will miss his second straight game on Thursday after being removed from Tuesday’s victory over the Orioles due to what Aaron Boone described as lower body soreness.
The Yankees have been particularly coy about Judge’s condition, and Boone indicated on Wednesday that he hoped to have him back for Thursday’s series finale at Camden Yards.
“He is doing really well. He’ll be available as a pinch hitter and in a pinch-hitting situation [Thursday],” Boone said prior to Thursday’s game.
This is Judge’s second consecutive game absence this season. He also missed back-to-back games over three days due to left side soreness, which Judge attributed to taking too many swings while acting as a DH on April 4.
Judge missed two stints on the IL last season due to a strained calf.
The Yankees are now in the midst of a 13-day period in which they have not taken a day off.
